Laurie Lambot

There are people that volunteer for personal reasons that are more about so they can say the are firefighters and be lauded for that. Then there are the people like Laurie, who’s altruism is backed up by giving way beyond the ask and doing it because she is driven by making a difference. [...] She is rare in that she takes little for granted and makes her mark by working exceedingly hard to meet her goals.

[Laurie's crew] was great to work with on the Gifford fire and during STF prepo-Support while I served in the TFLD(t) roll for [Task Force]. They were professional, dependable, self-sufficient & prompt. On the fire-line they exhibited good awareness, risk management, decision making and tactics. They played a key roll helping to catch a lightning fire on the Stanislaus as well as a slop on the Gifford Fire. I'd be glad to work with Collin, Scott, Laurie & Phanuel again.

Laurie was a volunteer recruit in the BCFFA Fire Academy in the fall of 2024 representing her fire district. She successfully completed the Firefighter I and Hazmat Operations certification. Laurie’s commitment to excellence and her thirst for knowledge are unmatched. She was named Rookie of the Year in 2024, not just for showing up, but for going above and beyond—logging the highest number of training hours of anyone at the department that year. She’s an absolute fire nerd in the best possible way—constantly studying, drilling, and refining her craft.

Laurie has demonstrated a deep commitment to learning and contributing. She has shown great enthusiasm for learning about firefighting and emergency medicine, and is currently enrolled in an EMT course. She has obtained many firefighting certifications, including Hazmat which is an extremely difficult certification to achieve. Laurie was rookie of the year last year with Boulder Mountain Fire. Her passion for helping others and her dedication to making a difference are clear through her consistent volunteer work.
